Joanna Pauline Martinez

As a lifelong babysitter – I understood that I enjoyed working with families and children, and knew that I would find a role in the future that aligned with this joy. As a senior at UW-Madison, I interned in the Honeybee Classroom the Fall of 2018, and returned as a Float Teacher in June of 2021, before teaching in the Chipmunk Room in 2022. I returned to the CDL as an Administrative Assistant after working with a family in Los Angeles, and I am thankful to have gained multiple perspectives within the ECE field, from these different roles.

Moving to multiple countries at a young age, led to a passion in working with international families, and celebrating diverse cultures in my work. One of my educational/life philosophies is curiosity! Being curious, about others, about the world, about oneself – makes me excited to be in the ECE field and to see it grow, especially in the CDL community!
