Children have always been my source of joy, so I have been working (in some capacity) in early childhood since I was a teenager (babysitter, nanny, children’s bookseller)! My mom, grandfather, and grandmother were all teachers, so internally I always knew I would end up in some sort of field in which I would work closely with children.
What are your educational philosophies?
Independence, inclusion, and kindness. Forming strong connections to the children and families I work with is vitally important, and allowing each child the space and support to grow in whatever way fits their needs best is something I strive to always be mindful of.
What is your favorite thing about working at the CDL?*
I don’t think I have one specific favorite aspect, but I think the CDL community (teachers, students, families) is second to none and I feel very lucky to work with such a variety of unique and thoughtful individuals! I also love having the opportunity to spend time outside in the beyond each day.
I have two small kiddos of my own, as well as two corgis and a husband. Food is my love language (especially dumplings, tacos, and soup) and I love spending time outdoors at the farmers market, playground, kayaking, or on walks with my family.
